MARSHALL LAW Prepare To Record New Album
August 15, 2004Birmingham, England-based heavy metal band MARSHALL LAW are scheduled to enter the studio in October/November to begin recording their new album, entitled "Axis of Power". "We have made great inroads into songs and developing them and crafting them to another level … sounding powerful tight and heavy," vocalist Andy Pyke wrote in a recent online posting. 12 songs will be recorded for the new album, which is expected to feature session drums by Chris Green and former PARADISE LOST/MARSHALL LAW man Lee Morris. Guitarists Dave Martin and Andy Southwell will handle bass for the sessions as ex-bassist Roy Davies is now pursuing an acting career. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Retribution", "Bloodlines", "Axis of Power", "What Lies Behind", "Why Do Men Die", "Nothing Lasts Forever", "Faith Divides", "Waiting for the Sign", "Pure Evil" and "From Past Times Until Now".
MARSHALL LAW's recording career spanned the albums "Marshall Law" in 1990 for Heavy Metal Records, "Powergame" in 1993, "Law In The Raw – Live" in 1996, "Metal Detector" in 1997 and "Warning From History" in 1999. In addition, producer Robin George has finished re-mastering the "Powergame" album for re-release through the Majestic Rock label in Japan. Extremely rare in Europe (the band only manufactured 1,000 copies through their own System X label),"Powergame" was a hit for the band in Japan where it sold over 35,000 copies on the JVC Victor label. This revised version will also feature extra, previously unreleased tracks.
